Sony Ericsson Satio: A phone with great features
Sony Ericsson brings us the best of both worlds that is the walkman and the cyber shot range packed into one punchy, yet great looking device. Available in Black, Silver, and Bordeaux colors from several phone shops and at 126 g, it feels odd and chunky due to the massive camera section at its back. The front of the phone is sleek and minimal with just the call, hang up and a menu button. The front houses a VGA video call camera with the host of various buttons on its sides. Apart from the nice looks it has some unbeatable features that we are going to discuss here.
- The Sony Ericsson interface is built on Symbian S60 5th edition with the home screen resembling an Android with many screens to scroll about left and right. The 3.5-inch TFT touch screen does justice to the 16 M colors that pop up on it along with an Accelerometer sensor. There are quick links on the home screen that lead to Google search and the contents of the phone. It uses a resistive screen rather than a capacitive one.
- It has a built in radio with pre-loaded and downloadable games. The Global Positioning System comes with support of A-GPS. It is Java enabled for Google maps, video player (plays WMV/MP4/RV/3GP formats), music player (supports P3/ WAV/WMA/ AAC /RA/M4A formats), an organizer and gesture controls.
- It provides a healthy talk time of up to 11 hours on 2G. It has GPRS, EDGE, and 3G as data connectivity options. It also has wireless LAN with Wi-Fi and DLNA. The Bluetooth is a v2.0 with A2DP support.
- A special mention is required of the primary camera of the feature-rich Satio loaded with tons goodies under the hood. It boasts of a 12.1 mega pixel camera with auto focus, xenon flash and video LED flash. It shoots video at 30 fps. So with this phone, you can click with a lot more clarity and it does just enough to replace a regular digital camera. It also has some special features like geo-tagging, Touch focus, face with smile detection.
- The apps let you look at dictionaries and off course buy music and movies online. Some of the best among them are Worldmate, MyLook and Labyrinth.
- When talking about memory, we see it has 128 MB as internal storage and a 256 MB RAM, while the external microSD card can account for another 32 GB of storage space.
